Alejandro Durán
Alejandro Durán is a Chilean designer, research, science educator and teacher. He is Chief Designer at Lowtech Design Group, initiative of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urban Studies of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Durán serves as teacher on the School of Design UC; and began his early career teaching courses on design interaction, identity, experience design and product development at the University of the Pacific, University for Development and at the School of Design of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Durán has served in research and development projects, incorporating the use of simplified forms of technology in development processes for local communities.
During the last years he has divided his time between academic research, the design of products, services and experiences, in addition to his development in science education and dissemination. In this sense, he has been part of the Experience Design group of the UC Design School, coordinator of scientific research practices, coordinator of the Lowtech & Science UC design group and currently director of the Scientific Education and Dissemination space of the School of Design, ECCCO.
